Education and Training

Born and raised in West Michigan, Dr. Bryan Huffman attended the University of Michigan for both his undergraduate and medical school education, where he participated in research studies on growth hormones. He completed his general internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. After that, he left Michigan to pursue his ophthalmology residency through the University of Florida Shands Eye Center. On completing his residency, he happily returned to West Michigan to serve the eye health needs of his home communities.

Working with Sight Eye Clinic

In 2005, Dr. Bryan Huffman returned to West Michigan from Florida and joined Sight Eye Clinic, happy to return to his roots with his family. He is currently a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He also maintains memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Michigan Medical Society, Ottawa County Medical Society, American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.

He is on staff at both Holland Hospital and Zeeland Community Hospital, and maintains continuing education to stay at the top of the field. He has performed thousands of eye surgeries, particularly for cataracts, throughout his career. In addition to all of this, Dr. Huffman speaks Spanish, allowing him to communicate more comfortably with native Spanish-speakers in our local communities.

More About Dr. Huffman

Dr. Bryan Huffman married his wife, Stacy, in 1998. Together they have two school-aged children. When he’s not busy in the office, you can usually find him working with his hands and fixing things. He enjoys restoring classic cars, particularly from the early and mid-20th century, with his father. He’s remodeled multiple homes for both charity and personal use, including rebuilding all the major systems and replacing most of the foundation in his current home. He also loves being outdoors, spending plenty of time boating, Great Lakes salmon fishing, biking, camping, hiking, and generally enjoying time with his family.
